One of the many beaches at Ste Maxime - there are many smooth sandy beaches with great snorkeling and beach bars and restaurants.
St Maxime is just a few kilometers down the main road on the coast and has a ferry over to St Tropez to avoid the crowds and traffic. Yes, this is really the South of France, St Tropez in fact. Every year the town, like all the others in the region transform into Christmas villages with lots of entertainment throughout December and the New Year for young and older alike ! Sorry but the snow is fake - it only snows in the hills occasionally in the south near Nice and Cannes.

Skating rinks are in many towns including St Tropez and Draguignan. Great fun for the children and very popular.
The Ramatuelle Jazz festival is every year in August, see their website for the full programme this year.

And finally every year there are the regular celebrations of the liberation in August. You would not believe the vehicles still kept operational for the celebrations of the invasion by the Allies to begin the freedom of Europe. A sight to behold with even children joining in to keep the celebrations going each year.
